Ingredients:

25ml Kahlua
25ml  Vodka
35ml Espresso Coffee
10ml Sugar Syrup

Garnish:

3 Coffee Beans

Method

Pre chill a martini glass by adding some ice to the glass.  Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice.  Shake until chilled. Discard the ice from the martini glass and strain into pre-chilled glass.

We pre chill the glass to prevent the warm glass from warming the cocktail.  Colder is better!

Just for info!

There are several claims for the origin of the espresso martini. One of the more common claims is that it was created by Dick Bradsell in 1983 while at the Brasserie Soho in London for a woman who asked for something that would “wake me up, and then fuck me up”. According to Dick Bradsell, “The coffee machine at the Soho Brasseries was right next to the station where I served drinks. It was a nightmare, as there were coffee grounds everywhere, so coffee was very much on my mind. And it was all about vodka back then – it was all people were drinking.”
